Wreaths Across America Ceremony In Enfield: PHOTOS
Some stirring images from Saturday's 11th annual ceremony were captured by photographer Rich Tanguay.
ENFIELD, CT — For the 11th time, Wreaths Across America drew a significant turnout of residents in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery Saturday, despite cold and rainy weather conditions.
Sponsored by the John Maciolek American Legion Post 154 Auxiliary, the event featured Enfield veterans, assisted by local Boy and Girl Scouts, placing holiday wreaths in honor of the six branches of the United States armed forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. A seventh wreath was placed in recognition of U.S. prisoners of war and missing in action.
The names of Enfield residents killed in action since World War I were read aloud by first responders and Gold Star family members.
