ESSEX, CT — According to a Facebook post by Essex Parks and Recreation Director Mary Ellen Barnes, after careful consideration, the Re-Open Essex Committee along with the Park and Recreation Commission has decided to cancel the Annual Essex go Bragh Irish Parade because of health concerns related to COVID-19.

The post read, "While we are disappointed to have to cancel, we are acting in the interest and well-being of everyone. This outcome was not reached lightly. Rather, we weighed all options and concluded after receiving valuable input from health officials and viewing what is happening throughout Connecticut."

The Essex go Bragh Irish Parade will return the next year led by Grand Marshal Robert Russo and will be held on March 19, 2022.
