CENTERBROOK, CT — With the intention of starting a healthy new business, that offers a plentiful array of nutritious meal replacement protein and weight loss shakes, energy teas and even protein coffees, Jamie Bickelhaupt is excited to open the doors to Elite Nutrition on Saturday, March 13. Housed in the same complex as Nutmeg Pharmacy, Centerbrook Cheese Shop and Bob’s Centerbrook Liquor Store, Elite Nutrition is located at 33 Main Street in Centerbrook.

Bickelhaupt, who is running the new business, is no stranger to nutrition and wellness. A lifetime athlete, who is the coach of the Valley Regional High School girls’ basketball team, and played basketball in high school and college, she knows a thing or two about keeping one’s body in tip-top shape, by way of good nutrition.

In addition, Bickelhaupt teaches business at VRHS, so she is also well versed in the ins and out of successful business strategy and is hopeful that her new endeavor is supported by the community she has grown to love over the past four years of working in the tri-towns.

“Everyone at Valley has been so amazing from the first day I started working there,” said Bickelhaupt. “The other teachers, the students, the community; this is a great place and I hope that Elite Nutrition becomes a place that everyone comes and supports, and our products become part of their daily routines.”

For now, offerings will be mostly grab and go, but Bickelhaupt has future plans, depending on Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines, of bringing in tables and barstools to the new business, so it can become a place where customers can enjoy a healthy beverage with friends.
