Arvy The Pelican Has Touched Down In Florida

Arvy the Pelican has arrived safely in Florida and is reportedly comfortably enjoying his new set up, sunshine and warm weather.

ESSEX, CT — Arvy the Brown Pelican has arrived safely to his Florida destination and is comfortably enjoying his new set up, sunshine and warm weather at the Busch Wildlife Santcuary in Jupiter, Florida.

According to A Place Called Hope's Facebook post, "Arvy's Prognosis is good!"

Stephanie Franczak, the Hospital Director of the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is keeping Christine Cummings, the Director of A Place Called Hope Raptor Rescue, (where Arvy spent his time in Connecticut) updated about the juvenile bird's condition.

"She has assured me that this bird is feisty and doing well," said Cumming's on the post. "He is receiving supplemental food to boost him nutritionally, special medications to clear up his respiratory system and cold laser therapy to continue to treat the areas of concern on his feet. He has an experienced team to take over from here and all of us at APCH are so relieved he is where he needs to be. Thank you all for your concern and care for this unique visitor to our State of Connecticut."
