Chester Brewery Gives Back to Local Community Monthly
Little House Brewery, located in the heart of downtown Chester, has made it company policy to have a monthly fundraiser via the Giving Tap.

CHESTER, CT — Giving back is what it is all about for Little House Brewing Company, located in downtown Chester. Prompted by the downturn of the economy that hit in 2020 and the need for additional funds for many local charities and non-profits, the owners of Little House decided they wanted to do their part and give back to the community in their own special way. The Giving Tap!
Each month, a different choice beer flows from the designated Giving Tap at Little House and a portion of the proceeds from that tap are donated to the non-profit or charity of the month.
In November, the Tap raised $338 for The Nest Coffe House/A Little Compassion non-profit in Deep River, which creates work experience and employment opportunities for young adults with disabilities building bridges to adulthood by providing an array of social activities geared toward the interests of young adults with and without disabilities. The Nest also offers a safe, comfortable space in the community to gather and an opportunity to learn critical awareness, acceptance and inclusion of people of all abilities.

"Who doesn't like giving back?" questioned Tap Room Manager Gabriel Flugrad. "This program has been very successful and we have gotten really great feedback and support from our customers and the charities and non-profits have all been very grateful."
For the month of February, Little House is raising funds for the Chester Emergency Fuel Fund. Their Facebook page states, "This is a 100% donation supported program that helps households in need keep their homes warm. Given the recent weather, we think it’s a fitting recipient for our Giving Tap!".
The beer currently flowing from the Giving Tap is called Tintype, which is a unique Brown Ale. According to Litt House's website, this beer is named for one of the earliest forms of commercial photography, this sepia-colored brown ale delivers the chocolate and malty tones characteristic of a stout, but without the heaviness. In addition, Tintype is brewed with 100% Connecticut ingredients which include; hand-toasted oats and amber wheat from Thrall Family Farms, providing rich flavors, which are contrasted, and balanced, by CT Grown Cascade hops, provided by Hop Culture.
"We don't really set a specific goal of how much money we would like to raise each month with the Giving Tap," said Flugard. "We just do the best we can and raise as much money as possible."
