Chester Conservation Commission Environmental Tip
With the health of the Environment always at the forefront the Chester Conservation Commission has a tip for what to do with shredded papers
CHESTER, CT — Enviro tip from the Chester Conservation Commission:
Since ALL WASTE won’t take shredded paper in their recycling barrels, Chester residents might wonder how they can dispose of it responsibly. Here are some suggestions. There will be two paper shredding events in Essex in the spring. The dates have not yet been set, so watch out for the announcements. Shredded paper can be added to compost piles or used as bedding for chickens or other farm animals. Be creative and responsible in disposing of it as you try to avoid just adding it to the trash. We should all be trying to cut down on the amount of trash not add to it.
