Covid-19 Positive Cases On The Rise In Chester Over Past Month
Covid-19 cases have approximately doubled within Chester and the surrounding Health District over the past four weeks.

CHESTER, CT — First Selectwoman Lauren Gister wrote in part of her weekly letter to the town;
"I regret to have to include in this email the fact that infection numbers are rising in Connecticut as a whole and in our area. Cases have approximately doubled within Chester and our Health District over the past four weeks. Sadly, two nursing home residents have passed away from COVID related illness in the last week. Please be aware that even with widespread vaccination and the re-opening of venues and businesses there can still be a risk of infection and requires a continuation of safety precautions. Please be safe!
Although it can be complicated and frustrating to make appointments for vaccines, they are becoming more available each week. New clinics have opened, and current clinics have been expanding their hours. A core group of 5-6 Chester volunteers are on standby each week to assist residents in making appointments to receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
