Environmental Tip From Chester

Get outside, get healthy, get happy!

CHESTER, CT — Environmental tip from the Chester Conservation Commission:

Scientists are studying the benefits of spending time outdoors, and the results indicate that spending time in the woods especially, what the Japanese call "forest bathing", is linked to lower blood pressure and heart rate and fewer stress hormones. Experiments have found that spending at least 120 minutes or more per week (16 minutes per day) outdoors, especially away from cars and concrete, is beneficial. We have so many opportunities to find good places to walk in Chester, that we all ought to be healthy.
