Essex Has A Newly Appointed Land Use Official

ESSEX, CT — In the quarterly newsletter to the town, First Selectman Norm Needleman wrote:

"I'd like to welcome Carey Duques, the Town's newly appointed Land Use Official, who oversees the recently merged Planning and Zoning Departments, Land Use and Wetlands, and the Zoning Board of Appeals. Ms. Duques previously served for several years as the town planner, zoning administrator and wetland enforcement officer for the Town of North Branford. To maximize efficiency, we also combined the Planning Commission and the Zoning Commission into one entity."
