ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — The Essex Library has sent out a press release explaining it has launched a survey, inviting feedback from library users and also non-users in the community, to aid in the composition of a strategic plan for 2022-2025. The survey covers topics including collections, programs and services, and the facility itself. It takes roughly 5 minutes to complete and the Library’s Strategic Planning Committee is hoping to hear back from a wide variety of constituencies and as many people as possible in order to guide decisions for the strategic plan. The survey can be completed online through the Library’s website at www.youressexlibrary.org. Paper copies of the survey are available at the library and can be mailed to you, upon request.

The Library will host a focus group on Zoom on Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. that will be led by
Patty Dowling, the library’s strategic planning consultant. The event is intended to gather more
in-depth responses to questions on the community survey. The focus group is open to the
general public. Registration is required. More information and the link to register may be found
on the Library’s website at, www.youressexlibrary.org.

“Our community means the world to us! We dearly want you to join us in our planning. Your participation helps us better serve the Essex community by hearing what you want and need to be informed, inspired, and enriched. If you know of friends or neighbors who are using the library, please encourage them to take the survey too!” said the Library’s Executive Director, Deborah Smith in the prepared statement. For more information, please call the Library at (860) 767-1560 or email Executive Director Deborah Smith at dsmith@essexlib.org .
