DEEP RIVER, CT — There was an undertone of optimism and excitement at the March 10th Deep River Park and Recreation Commission meeting, as the Commission members discussed several upcoming events and programs such as, the Deep River Carnival, Family Day and Summer Camp programs to name a few.

Sarah Kateley discussed the upcoming Eggstravaganza, which is slated for Saturday March 27th at the Deep River Elementary School. It will be a special drive through event (for social distancing reasons), which will include each child receiving a holiday basket filled with candy stuffed, colorful plastic eggs. In addition, there will be a virtual Egg Hunt, starting this weekend in town. Fifteen egg cutouts will be placed around town for kids and their families to find. For every five, cutouts they find, kids will write down the word on the cut out and they get a ticket entering them in a raffle to win a large basket full of goodies.
