Keep Fire Hydrants Clear During Snowstorms In Essex

The Essex Fire Department asks that residents and businesses keep fire hydrants clear of snow during storms.

ESSEX, CT — With two days of snow on the horizon the Essex Fire Department asks that hydrants in town are kept clear and ready for use.

There are 136 fire hydrants throughout Essex, Centerbrook and Ivoryton. During snowstorms, many of these hydrants get covered and are hidden from fire fighters needing them for emergencies.

The Essex Fire Department asks that residents and businesses throughout town clear snow from hydrants near their homes and businesses in an effort to help keep everyone in town safe.
