- The Chester Fire Department (Hose Company) was among many others who responded as mutual aid to a fire in an unoccupied home in Haddam, on River Road, early Wednesday morning. According to a Fox 61 News article, officials said a live power line had melted off the house, and fell into the woods, starting a small brush fire. Once Eversource secured the power, crews extinguished the fire, along with smoking "hot spots" at the scene's perimeter. The home was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Haddam Fire Marshal's Office."(FOX61 Hartford)

According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, there are now 15 cases of monkeypox in Connecticut. According to NBC News, "health officials in New Haven said the incubation period is typically three to 21 days following exposure. They are asking anyone who is diagnosed with monkeypox to isolate. They are also asking them to avoid close contact with people within the household and to maintain a safe distance from people and animals. They urge people in homes where there is a monkeypox case to make sure to clean and disinfect if they are using the same bathroom." (NBC Connecticut)
