ESSEX, CT — Although Covid-19 restrictions are lifting, and there appears to be a light at the end of this long tunnel, another famous, annual Essex parade has fallen victim to the many and varied activities that have been canceled due to the pandemic.

The Sailing Masters of 1812 announced on their Facebook page today that with regret, they will not be holding their traditional "Burning of Ships" Commemoration this year due to Covid-19 and local and State Mandates.

They wrote, "We look forward to having our event back next year in all of its glory."
