No Midterms This Year For Valley Regional High School Students

ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — A letter was sent out to all Valley Regional High School students and families by Principal Mike Barile and Associate Principal, Carolyn Gbunblee stating that, "...Based on your feedback, as well as input from our department chairs and Student Leadership Council, we will be canceling midterm exams for the 2020-2021 school year. Given that traditional exams will be nearly impossible to simulate at home, we feel this change will promote increased student learning with additional time for instruction and support. Quarters 1 and 2 will each count for 25% of a student’s grade in a full year class and 50% of the grade in a semester course."
