"Save A Suit" Veteran Event in Chester; Huge Success

One more example of our small community showing up for one another in any way they can.

CHESTER, CT — The tri-town showed up for local veterans by participating in the "Save A Suit" event held on March 20 at the Chester Resident Trooper office. Over 100 men's sports coats and women's blazers were collected, as well as a variety of other business attire including dress shirts, dress pants, tops, shoes, etc.

The Save A Suit event was intended to help military veterans transition to civilian life. The event was a huge success and all items collected by Chester Resident Trooper, Luke LaRue and Chester Officer, Craig Lee went to Save A Suit Director, Alex Carrera to be distributed to those in need.

"It was very nice to see the community come out in full force and assist a noble cause," said LaRue who is hopeful that this event can be held again next year.
