Eagles almost disappeared completely from the state of Connecticut by the late 1990's. However, defying the odds, the magnificent, majestic raptors made a huge comeback in the state, thanks to conservation efforts. Today, eagle numbers in the nutmeg state are strong, and these beautiful birds can often be seen from the banks of the Connecticut River, hunting for their dinner or nesting with their mates. Keep your eyes open!
