Why Not Start the New Year Outside in Essex?

ESSEX, CT — Exercise is always top of the list for New Year’s resolutions, so why not kick off your stay active to-do list with a fun, exciting new experience on the Essex Steam Train rail bike.

Take in the beauty of New England’s outdoors with a leisurely eight-mile round trip excursion on a rail bike. Reservations have been opened up for Saturday, January 2, at 10:30, noon and 1:30. Two-seat bikes are $75 and four-seat bikes are $125. Costs are per bike not per person. Masks are mandatory and bikes run rain or shine. Single Riders must be at least 18 years of age.

Guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled departure time. (Not suitable for small children. All riders must be able to walk and be at least 10 years old). Minimum height is 48”. The maximum weight is 250 pounds (per rider). Dress for the weather. Close-toed shoes are required. No infants or canines on this experience. Please bring water or other non-alcoholic drinks
