CT Women's Hall of Fame Welcomes Lubarsky as Executive Director
Fairfield's Sarah Smith Lubarsky Served as CWHF Development Director for Three Years

Following an extensive search, the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame (CWHF) is thrilled to welcome new executive director Sarah Smith Lubarsky. Having most recently served as director of development for the CWHF, Lubarsky has spent the last 30 years supporting, leading, and developing strong community relationships for various service organizations.
“Sarah brings with her a wealth of knowledge regarding our organization and her infectious passion for our mission,” says Board Chairman Sharon Alleman. “We could not be more proud that Sarah will be leading our organization into the future, as we expand our educational programs across the state.”
As the CWHF’s director of development for the past three years, Lubarsky has played a key role in expanding the organization’s relationships with other non-profit organizations, corporations, and individuals. Her goal is to build on the CWHF’s reputation as the “go to” organization that inspires and empowers women of all ages, and as the leader in women’s history in the state. She is motivated every day by the importance of the CWHF’s work. Understanding that so many girls today don’t feel entitled to reach for the stars or can’t even imagine how to achieve the life they dream of, Lubarsky is driven to help the CWHF continue its educational mission to inspire girls and young women through Inductees’ stories.

“The work that we do is so important,” says Lubarsky. “When our educators connect with girls in the classroom, or young women attend our events, they see themselves in our Inductees’ stories, and they’re inspired. This is the single most important thing that we do. I believe we are poised to do great things. With an active Board of Trustees, our staff and educational programs at the ready, we can capitalize on our considerable progress and make an even larger impact across the state.”
Lubarsky holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech, Communication & Theater from Albion College in Michigan. Originally from Bay City, Michigan, Sarah is a long-time Connecticut resident. She currently lives in Fairfield with her husband, David, who is a commercial photographer in NYC. They have two daughters; the older is an organic farmer in Connecticut and the younger is a registered dietician in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

About the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame
The mission of the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame (CWHF) is to honor publicly the achievements of Connecticut women, preserve their stories, educate the public and inspire the continued achievements of women and girls. Founded in 1994 in Hartford, the CWHF is a provider of innovative educational programs and tools that inspire women and girls to believe in their unlimited potential. The CWHF’s 119 Inductees are role models for women of all ages, and their stories are proof of all that women can accomplish. Leveraging those powerful stories, the CWHF makes history relevant through programs for educators, multi-media presentations, and traveling exhibits offered free-of-charge. The CWHF’s work fosters the courage and confidence women need to overcome barriers and advocate on their own behalf. Each year through the CWHF’s initiatives, 50,000 women and girls see what’s possible and become empowered to take an active role in shaping their future. The CWHF website, www.cwhf.org, is a “Virtual Hall” where visitors can explore all that CWHF has to offer.
