Elderly Fairfield Woman Strikes Bicyclist with Car

The cyclist, a 22-year-old man, received cuts on his leg; woman, 77, receives infraction for failing to stop.

An elderly Fairfield woman struck a bicyclist with her car near Fairfield Ludlowe High School Tuesday afternoon, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

Yvette Bezahler, 77, of Winopogue Drive, was issued an infraction for failing to stop for a bicyclist in a crosswalk.

The cyclist, a 22-year-old man, had cuts on his leg but refused medical attention, according to the Citizen.

The Citizen reports that Bezahler stopped at the Mill Plain Road intersection with the driveway for Fairfield Ludlowe and then started to drive and hit the cyclist, who was crossing the street.
