Fairfield American Little League Dominates In New England Regional Opener
The state champions cruised past Maine in the opening round of the New England Regional tournament.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield American Little League team continued its winning ways with an 8-0 victory over South Portland, Maine, in the opening round of the New England Regional tournament Monday in Bristol.
Fairfield American was powered by Matt Vivona, who hit two home runs and added a triple, and the dominating pitching by Ethan Righter, according to the Connecticut Post. Righter allowed only two hits while striking out nine before Vivona relieved in the sixth inning to close out the game. (To sign up for Fairfield breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Fairfield American (16-0) will play again on Wednesday when it takes on New Hampshire at 4 p.m., according to the Post.
