Fairfield American Little League Wins State Championship
Fairfield continues its winning ways and advances to the New England Regional.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield American Little League team claimed the state championship with a thrilling 11-9 victory over Manchester Sunday at President’s Field in East Lyme. While it is the third straight title for the program, this year’s roster is a brand new team with 13 new players, according to the Connecticut Post.
Fairfield American, which improved to 13-1 this summer, will next play in the New England Regional in Bristol and faces Rhode Island in its first game on Aug. 5. Last year’s team advanced all the way to the Little League World Series.
Will Meyers earned the win on the mound against Manchester while also adding two hits and two RBIs, according to the Post. Timmy Domizio had a solo home run and Jude Gussen added two hits and two RBIs for Fairfield American.
