Fairfield American Stays Alive In New England Regional Tournament

Fairfield staved off elimination in the Little League New Regional tournament on Tuesday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield American Little League team stayed alive in the New England Regional tournament with a 7-0 victory over Saco, Maine, Tuesday afternoon in Bristol.

Fairfield staved off elimination and kept its Little League World Series dreams alive thanks to a strong pitching performance by Will Meyers, some clutch hitting and excellent defense, according to GameTimeCT.com.

Meyers allowed just three hits and finished with six strikeouts in four-plus innings of work, while Dustin Walters blasted a pinch-hit two run home run and Jon Morris added a two-run triple, according to GameTimeCT. Fairfield will play in another elimination game on Thursday at 1 p.m.
