Fairfield Athlete Nominated For 2017 USA Football Heart Of A Giant Award

Open voting is underway for the sixth and last set of Tri-State area high school football players nominated for the award.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Ludlowe’s Wil Parisi was among the 10 nominees announced for the 2017 USA Football Heart of a Giant Award, presented by Hospital for Special Surgery and the New York Giants, for the sixth and last set of Tri-State area high school football players nominated for open voting. These students have been nominated by their coaches for their commitment, teamwork, will, character and dedication, according to a press release.

Voting for these nominees will be open for 25 days with final vote tally determining who will be named the group’s finalist. One grand prize winner will be selected based on video submissions stating why they have the Heart of a Giant and will be honored on the field during a New York Giants’ home game. All six finalists will receive $1,500 for their high school’s football program, with the winner’s school getting an additional $3,500.

A four-year starter for the Ludlowe football program, Parisi is the consummate hard-working high school athlete.

New Ludlowe football coach Mitchell Ross told USA Football, “Wil has led the team in workouts every single day for the past 6 months since I took over the program, battles through injuries on a weekly basis, and stays incredibly positive for a team with modest goals this season – goals that include giving it your all to win a game, but just having fun.”
