JR VARSITY
~ Fairfield Giants JV team hosted the Patriots of Warwick, RI on Sunday at Sullivan Field. The undefeated Patriots opened the game with a quick scoring drive, taking an early 6-0 lead in Q1. Fairfield's offense responded in kind with a 65 yard scoring drive of their own as QB Nick Morris hit WR Ben Gaffney on a 40 yard pass down to the Patriots 1 yard line. Morris would take it in himself for the score (PAT good), making the score 7-2 mid-way thru Q2. It was all Warwick after that! The Patriots would score 3 more times ending the game with a 24-7 victory and remained undefeated in New England Pop Warner play.

MITEY MITE BLACK
~The Giants' Mitey Mite Sr Black team hosted the Bridgeport Raiders. Fairfield started the game with the ball picking up three first downs behind the running of QB TJ Cirilli, RBs Conrad Burki, Finbar Malloy and Ricky Bates. The Raiders took over and after a few run plays, Bridgeport scored off of a screen pass and converted the PAT. Fairfield RB Malloy got the Giants to the 50 yard line but the drive stalled. The Giants' defense led by Billy Mitchell, Cirilli, Burki, Malloy and Bates stopped the Raiders at the 35 yard line. Fairfield QB Matthew McManus led the drive behind RB Luke Shannehan and Malloy picking up three first downs before turning it over on downs. The Raiders scored on their next two possessions to end the half 20-0. The Giants' defense held Bridgeport scoreless the remainder of the game behind Cameron Collin, Mason Frey, Cirilli, Mitchell, Shannehan and Malloy.
MITEY MITE WHITE
~MMSr White had a dominant victory against Milford 32-0. The Giants offense was unstoppable as they paired an incredible blocking effort with a big play attack. QB Justin Toothaker rumbled for a 50yd TD early after Cole Westerlund sprung him with a key block. Toothaker later found Beckett Hallama on an incredible 45yd TD reception. Toothaker and Hallama combined to score all 5 Giants TDs. The Giants blocking efforts were the best all season. Fullbacks Robbie Manning and Ryan Tompkins opened up holes all day long. Downfield blocking by Lawson Leibrock, Braeden Aronson, Grayson Preschlack, Matt Kleinman was too much for the Milford defense. Tough tailback Liam Bond, Tyler Capozziello-Hickey and Cole Westerlund also got involved with long runs on offense.
The Giants defensive effort was just as impressive as they yielded very little to Milford's offense. Defensive ends Andrew Sakey and Angelo Boci both made some highlight tackles. Ben Zuckerman, RJ Patrignelli, Peter Barachelli, Luke Stasko and Shane Lynch shut down the line of scrimmage. Ryan Tompkins and Justin Toothaker filled gaps aggressively at linebacker position with some booming hits. Leibrock patrolled the secondary all day defending Milford's pass attempts and second level runs.
All five Giant teams are home at Sullivan Field for Homecoming this weekend.
Both Giant cheer teams compete in New Haven this Saturday morning at the Southern Ct Qualifiers. Teams placing 1st or 2nd move forward to the regional qualifiers in Springfield, Ma.
