Fairfield Hockey Team Advances to CIAC Division II Final
Jake Fuss scored four goals to lead the Mustangs to a semifinal victory and into the D-II state championship game.

Led by four goals from senior forward Jake Fuss, the Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe co-op hockey team cruised past No. 3 Guilford 5-1 in the Division II boys’ hockey semifinals on Monday and will play for a state title on Friday night.
The second-seeded Mustangs (18-4-1) will face No. 1 North Branford, a 7-1 winner over East Haven in the other semifinal, in the title game at Yale’s Ingalls Rink at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Branford is also 18-4-1.
Fuss scored twice on breakaway goals and also on two redirected shots, while goalie Mike Grace made 26 saves for the Mustangs, according to Dan Nowak of GameTimeCT/New Haven Register. Owen Emmendrofer also scored for Fairfield.
Fairfield coach Tom Roche told Nowak that Fuss has been a force for the Mustangs but also credited their play as a team and said it’s been their goal to get to the Division II final since Day 1.
