Fairfield Ludlowe Student Steps Up, Identifies Himself as Driver in Hit-and-Run Accident Involving School Bus

The student saw a report online that police were seeking the driver that fled the scene.

A Fairfield Ludlowe student came forward and told school officials that he was the one responsible for rear-ending a school bus last Thursday morning and fleeing the scene, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The student, a 17-year-old, saw a report online that police were seeking the driver of a blue Jeep Sahara that struck the bus at about 9:15 a.m. on Thursday. There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident, only the driver and an aide (who sustained a minor head injury).

The Citizen reports that the student, who was not identified because of his age, had borrowed the Jeep from a friend and was scared after the accident and drove off.
