Fairfield Man Accused of Strangling Ex-Girlfriend, Leaving her Unconscious on Side of Road: Report
The suspect was hospitalized for evaluation after making suicidal statements during the booking process, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police have charged a 20-year-old town man with strangling his ex-girlfriend and leaving her unconscious by the side of the road early Monday morning, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports Samuel R. Flicker, 20, of Bronson Road, was arrested and then taken to a local hospital for evaluation after making suicidal statements.
The victim, who had numerous injuries, went to police headquarters around 6 a.m. on Monday to report the incident and told police that she was driving around with Flicker after leaving a party when she received an inappropriate text from a male friend, according to the Citizen.

She told police that Flicker saw the message, got angry and he then allegedly assaulted her, causing her to lose consciousness on two occasions, according to the Citizen.
