Fairfield Police Have 'Small Army' of Investigators Tracking Down Rapist

A Sacred Heart University student was sexually assaulted when a man broke into her Berkeley road home at 3 a.m. Monday morning.

Police have a “small army” of investigators trying to track down the suspect that allegedly broke into a Berkeley Road home at 3 a.m. Monday morning and sexually assaulted a Sacred Heart University student, according to the Connecticut Post.

Fairfield Police Lt. James Perez told the Connecticut Post that “We’ve got a small army of investigators working this case. We’re being assisted by the State Police Major Crimes Squad, who are examining the fairly large amount of evidence uncovered.”

Police are also asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

Police described the suspect as a short, stocky male, in his 20s, standing approximately between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-6, with dark spiky hair, and what were described as light colored eyes. The victim believed he had some facial acne, and spoke with a Spanish accent. She did not see or hear a vehicle leave the scene.

Police released a sketch of the suspect (pictured) on its Facebook page and asking if anyone has any information to contact the Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840. Anonymous Text a Tips can be sent to: 274637.

Perez also expressed concern that the area’s colleges don’t do enough to teach their students who live off campus about crime prevention, according to the Connecticut Post.
