Fairfield Scholastic Runners Qualify for New England Championships
Athletes from all three Fairfield-based high schools will compete next weekend based on stellar performances at Friday's State Open.
MANCHESTER, CT — The boys cross country team from Fairfield Warde High School finished fourth in the State Open championship Friday at Wickham Park in Manchester.
William Brisman (4th) placed in the top 25 for the Mustangs, who advance to the New England Cross Country Championships Nov. 12 at Ponaganset High School in North Scituate, R.I.
Drew Thompson of Fairfield Prep, who was edged for the overall title by just one second, qualified for the New Englands as an individual, as did Gabi Galletta of Warde (14th) and Sarah Leatherwood (19th) of Ludlowe in the girls race.
