Fairfield School Year Not Delayed, Despite Misleading Robocalls
"You may have received a robocall that the start of school is delayed two weeks. Not true!" superintendent Mike Cummings said.
FAIRFIELD, CT ā Fairfield school officials warned families this weekend that recent robocalls saying the first day of school had been pushed back are false.
āYou may have received a robocall that the start of school is delayed two weeks,ā superintendent Mike Cummings said in a message to families that was shared on social media by Board of Education members. āNot true! School will open as planned Tuesday, September 8, 2020.ā
Cummings also reminded students to stay home if they feel ill, wear a mask and quarantine for 14 days after visiting states on the Connecticut travel advisory list.

Cummings said in an email he did not have information about the source of the calls, why they were made or how many families received them.
