Fairfield University Awarded $2.45 million Grant For Nursing Shortage

The grant aims to get more students in the nursing and behavioral health workforce pipeline.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield University was awarded $2.45 million to help bolster the number of nurses and behavioral health providers in Connecticut.

The grant will give tuition assistance to Connecticut-based students enrolled in nursing, psychiatric nursing practitioner and masters in social work programs. The grant will also support faculty recruitment and retention.

Grant funding is through the CT Health Horizons Initiative, which is a partnership between the state, and the Connecticut Hospital Association.
