Fairfield Warde Heads Into Class LL Baseball Semifinals
Led by a dominant pitching performance from senior Reece Maniscalco, the Mustangs ended Xavier's Cinderella run in the quarterfinals.
FAIRFIELD, CT —The Fairfield Warde baseball team will take on 11th-seeded Simsbury in the Class LL semifinals Tuesday afternoon at Muzzy Field in Bristol with the winner advancing to the championship game.
Led by a dominant pitching performance from senior Reece Maniscalco, the 10th-seeded Mustangs (18-7) ended No. 34 Xavier’s Cinderella run with a 3-1 victory on Saturday at Fairfield University.
Maniscalco, who finished with 12 strikeouts and allowed only five hits, made “some big pitches” Warde coach Brett Conner told Jimmy Zanor of GameTimeCT after the game.

The semifinal showdown begins at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
