FAIRFIELD, CT — Just two weeks after winning the highly competitive State competition in Hamden, the Fairfield Warde Dance Team continued its triumphant run winning first place for hip hop at New England Regionals in Bellingham, MA. Competing against 11 of the best teams from Vermont, Massachusetts, and their home state of Connecticut, Warde performed their hip hop number, “Ready for the War,” aptly named considering the fierce fighter mentality they showed on the floor. In this high-caliber lineup, the Dance Team—once again—demonstrated their skills by taking home the title of 2023 New England Regional Champions.

“The fight, the strength, the drive, the hunger, the energy it was ALL there. We had our performance of the season,” Coach Jennifer Kealey said. “I am so incredibly proud of what we were able to put on the floor. Also feeling so honored and humbled to be able to bring the New England title back home.”

Placing at regionals is nothing new for the Fairfield Warde Dance Team, as they have a long standing successful history at the New England Regionals. The Mustangs have consistently made it into the top two, with this year’s win being the team’s third time taking home the number one spot. They are also the only Connecticut team to have participated in the competition since it began 10 years ago.
