Family of Fairfield Warde Student Critically Injured in Crash Thanks First Responders

The family and friends of Lee Faiga, the Fairfield Warde student severely injured in a car accident on May 27, are thanking the town’s first responders for going “far over and above their call of duty.”
In a letter to the Fairfield Citizen, the family and friends write that “From the moment they arrived on scene and to date, the Fairfield police have shown compassion and professionalism and, we suspect, have gone far over and above their call of duty. Trips for ice cream and deliveries of breakfast to the family’s home are likely not in their job description.”
The family also updates that Lee’s “injuries are devastating, but she is battling.”

Soon after the accident, a GoFundMe account was launched on Lee’s behalf to help the family with medical expenses.
More than $50,000 has been raised by 760 people in 18 days as of Monday afternoon.
