Freezing Cold, Wind Now And Then A Big Warmup: CT Weather
It will be a roller coaster of a weather holiday weekend for CT. Here are new details on the forecast and when to expect our next storm.

CONNECTICUT — Happy Valentine's Day everyone. If you're curious, there is no snow in the forecast through the holiday weekend and likely beyond. Our winter minus wintry weather continues as March is right around the corner.
While we don't see any wintry weather on the horizon it will definitely feel like winter today in Connecticut. Areas along the coast will see temps around 10 degrees tonight while areas away from the coast will see low temps around 5 degrees.
It will be below freezing today and on Saturday but then we see a warmup on Sunday with temps rising again into the mid 40s. It's likely Connecticut will see a rainstorm Tuesday and northern areas may see some initial mixing early Tuesday before the change to plain rain. That storm is still several days away.

The National Weather Service says "A cold airmass will be over the area into Saturday. Temperatures today will be near 10 degrees below seasonal normals, with highs in the upper 20s inland to the lower 30s along the coast. A strong and gusty northwest flow will result in wind chill values from around 15 inland to the mid 20s along the coast. Winds will be diminishing tonight, and lows will be in the single digits above zero across ... much of southern Connecticut to the mid and upper teens along the coast.
"Wind chill values will be around 2 below zero inland to around 10 along the coast. Highs Saturday will again be below normal with highs in the lower to mid 30s. Temperatures return to slightly
above normal levels Sunday with highs in the lower to mid 40s," the weather service says.

WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Dress for a very cold day today! The wind is going to get stronger today and the temperature is going to get colder. I would dress for about 15 degrees that is the forecast wind chill midday into the afternoon! It gets even colder this evening but at least it will be dry today right through tomorrow with lots of sun. No problems for your plans tonight either! 40s return on Sunday and President’s Day! Looks like some rain and 50° for Tuesday!"
