The Fairfield Animal Control reports that the very friendly Golden Retriever has been adopted to a new home after two weeks at the shelter.

FAIRFIELD, CT — After spending two weeks at the animal shelter, the Golden Retriever described by animal control officers as an “amazing” dog has found a new home.

“Last night the Golden Retriever was adopted out to a new great home,” the animal control posted on Facebook on Saturday. “After spending two weeks at the shelter with no owner found it was time to start her new life. We would like to thank you all for spreading the word on this dog. It's nice to know there are so many people willing to help.”

The female Golden Retriever was picked up on Saturday, Oct. 22 from Querida Street in Fairfield and was impounded at the shelter.

“She had no collar, ID tags or microchip,” the animal control said in the original post on Facebook last week. “She was wearing a pink harness but that also had no tags attached. Very friendly and gentle with everyone. Please pass this info and picture on to others on facebook. Someone has to be missing this amazing dog.”

The dog’s photo and story generated a lot of shares and comments on Facebook but her owner was never located.
