“Knowing right away that this dog had health issues, it was taken to our Vet (Dr. John Kristy) where it was found to have multiple complex hernia's that required immediate surgery,” the animal control said in a post on Facebook. “Dr. Kristy and staff went out of their way to give this dog a second chance. His recovery has gone well and as soon as we are sure he is healthy enough he can be adopted. Possible additional surgery is possible in the future but not needed at this time. Anyone interested can visit the shelter to say hello to Cookie Dough.”
