Jury Reaches Verdict in Sacred Heart University Rape Case: Report

A convicted felon was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old student after taking her from a bar to an apartment last March.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A jury of four women and two men found Alfonso “Fonzie” Reid, 39, not guilty of raping a Sacred Heart University student last March, according to the Connecticut Post.

Daniel Tepfer of the Post reports the jury deliberated for three hours on Wednesday and the foreman said they didn’t think either side “had been 100 percent truthful and because of that we had a doubt.”
