Jury Rules On Fairfield Teacher Accused Of Exposing Himself
A jury has decided the case of a popular Fairfield teacher accused of exposing himself to a female student on two occasions.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A popular Fairfield high school teacher has been found not guilty of exposing himself to a female student on two occasions, according to the Connecticut Post.
The Post reports Jeff Iwanicki, 46, burst into tears when the jury’s verdict was announced on Monday. Iwanicki was arrested in January of 2017 and had been charged with two counts of risk of injury/impairing the morals of a minor, public indecency, and breach of peace for exposing himself to a juvenile.
Iwanicki, who has been a graphics teacher at Fairfield Warde for seven years, was accused of exposing himself to a 15-year-old student on two occasions. Iwanicki worked with the student on graphics projects and she told police the first incident occurred in November of 2016 and the second incident occurred about a month later.

Iwanicki adamantly denied the accusations during an employment hearing in September of 2017, the Fairfield Citizen previously reported. Frederick Ward III, an arbitrator who was appointed by the Board of Education, ruled last January ruled that Iwanicki shouldn't be fired. Ward, who held several hearings, stated in his report that the police investigation was insufficient and the complainant wasn't credible while recommending that Iwanicki shouldn't be fired from his teaching position, the Post previously reported.
