Legendary Fairfield Prep Football Coach Earl Lavery Dies At 86
Earl Lavery led the Jesuits for 27 seasons.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Legendary Fairfield Prep football coach Earl Lavery died Monday at the age of 86, the Connecticut Post reports.
Lavery was the head coach at Fairfield Prep for 27 seasons, guiding the Jesuits to three CIAC state championships — 1977, 1982 and 1988 — along with state runner-up in 1976, according to the Post.
Former Prep head football coach, and current assistant coach, Tom Shea told the Post that Lavery was more than his 230 career victories and was “about doing things the right way and having that selfless attitude…” He was also apparently a great singer.
