Little League World Series: Fairfield's Game Against New Jersey Postponed

UPDATE: Tonight's game between Fairfield American and New Jersey has been postponed due to rain. The game will be played on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fresh off their 14-6 victory over Walla Walla, Washington, Fairfield American will be back in action Tuesday night in an elimination game in the Little League World Series with a rematch against with Holbrook Little League, the Mid-Atlantic champions out of Jackson, New Jersey. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. start on ESPN. Fairfield, the New England Regional and Connecticut state champions, defeated New Jersey 7-6 in its opening game last Thursday.

On Monday night, Fairfield American came out swinging in the bottom of the fourth inning to score eight runs and erase a 5-2 deficit and roll to a 14-6 victory over Walla Walla.

The start of the game was delayed for more than an hour due to rain and lightning in the area, but the victory was well worth the wait for Fairfield American.
