Masked Man Attempts To Rob Closed Bank: Fairfield Police
The man went to the door wearing a mask and carrying a duffel bag but fled when he realized the bank was closed, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A masked man apparently went to People’s Bank Wednesday with the intention to rob it, but fled when he realized it was closed, according to police.
A People’s Bank employee reported to police at about 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 that a man came to the door wearing a mask and carrying a duffel bag.

He attempted to open the bank door which was locked, before being noticed by employees inside and then left the scene, according to police.
The subject ran from the bank and entered the driver’s seat of a vehicle that fled toward I-95 South.

Bank employees told police that they believed the subject was attempting to commit a robbery, but showed up after the bank was closed.
There is no surveillance footage at this time, police said.
