New Use Revealed For Former Bob's Store In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Restoration Hardware furniture outlet store is slated to move into the vacated retail space in Fairfield that formerly held a Bob's Store at 889 Post Road, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Restoration Hardware closed a store in Westport in 2020; the Post Road East retail space became a Barnes & Noble. The furniture store had been in at the Westport location for two decades.

The luxury furniture store's only other Connecticut location is in Greenwich on Greenwich Avenue.

When the new 35,000-square-foot outlet store will open has not been disclosed; Patch reached out to Restoration Hardware for comment on the planned Fairfield store, but did not immediately receive a reply.

Mark Barnhart, Fairfield's director of Community & Economic Development, is excited by the news of Restoration Hardware moving to town.

"We’re thrilled to welcome a Restoration Hardware Outlet to Fairfield," Barnhart said in an email to Patch. "We think Fairfield’s a great fit for Restoration Hardware, and we wish them much success at their newest location in the Fairfield Shopping Center on Post Road."

The Fairfield Bob's Store closed this month, but the company plans to open a new store in town in the future. Bob's is also closing a Norwalk location soon on Main Avenue/Route 7, and will move that store into space on Westport Avenue in Norwalk that formerly housed a Bed, Bath & Beyond.
