Norwalk Cop Resisted Arrest In Fairfield: Report
A state trooper conducting the Fairfield arrest threatened to get a K-9 dog and took the arrestee to the ground, The Norwalk Hour reported.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Norwalk police officer allegedly resisted arrest in Fairfield after fleeing a drunken crash, according to body camera footage released to The Norwalk Hour by state police. Office Hector Delgado, of Stratford, was arrested Aug. 8 when he was pulled over on Post Road after a witness saw his truck sideswipe an oil tanker on Interstate 95, according to The Hour. Police released two videos Friday showing the arrest and a third is expected Monday, The Hour reported.
In the footage, Delgado pleads with a state trooper who tries to handcuff him, according to The Hour. The trooper threatens to get a K-9 dog and takes Delgado to the ground, The Hour reported. Later, Delgado asks police if he can call "Capt. Kalamaras" — possibly in reference to Fairfield police Capt. Robert Kalamaras — before failing a field sobriety test, according to The Hour. The footage resulted in Delgado being charged recently with interfering with police, in addition to previous charges of driving under the influence, carrying a firearm while under the influence and failing to drive in the proper lane, The Hour reported.
Delgado, a 26-year veteran of the department, was suspended for five days in connection with the incident, Patch reported in October. He is set to appear in court Dec. 6, according to court records.
In addition to the 2019 suspension, Delgado has previously been suspended at least four times.

The Hour reported details of one suspension dating back more than 20 years, which lasted 500 days but was not in Delgado's personnel file. That suspension was the result of sexual assault and unlawful restraint charges brought against Delgado in connection with a 1996 traffic stop, according to The Hour, which reported that Delgado was acquitted of the charges in 1998 and allowed to rejoin the force.
