FAIRFIELD– Notre Dame High School has hired Bernie Brennan as the new girls basketball coach. Brennan has been involved with multiple AAU organizations over the past thirty years, and has coached both women's and men's basketball at the collegiate level. Most recently, Brennan was the girls basketball coach at Guilford High School, a position he held since 2019.
Notre Dame Athletic Director John Johnson stated, "After a competitive search, Brennan distinguished himself as not only a coach highly proficient in basketball strategies, but a coach who puts character and culture first amongst his players."
Bernie Brennan commented, "It is an honor and a privilege to take over as the girls basketball coach at a storied program like Notre Dame of Fairfield. I know I have some tough shoes to fill, but I have been preparing my entire career to lead a program like this. I'm looking forward to helping the student-athletes develop to be the best that they can be both academically and athletically."
