Notre Dame Fairfield Partners with Martire Family Arena
Lancer boys hockey to play at new SHU facility

FAIRFIELD– Notre Dame High School has furthered its partnership with Sacred Heart University through a new collaboration with the Martire Family Arena. Starting next season, all Lancer home games will take place at this brand new, collegiate facility.
Notre Dame Athletic Director John Johnson commented, “Modern day athletics, at any level, are dominated by the need for top notch facilities. Sacred Heart University is at the forefront of this effort, and their commitment to athletic excellence is on display at the new Martire rink. By moving our hockey program to SHU, we can further our goal of placing student-athletes in the best possible situations to succeed.”
As a 122,580 square foot facility with 3,600 seats, team training and film stations, and premier locker rooms, the Martire Family Arena is equipped for the highest levels of collegiate hockey. "This is an exciting move for our program here at Notre Dame”, said Coach Dave Burr. “What a unique opportunity our current and future hockey players will have to skate at this state-of-the-art facility starting next season. It’s a game changer for our program that will allow us to provide an elevated experience to our players and families."
