Suspect Used Heroin Before Fatal CTDOT Crash In Fairfield : CT State Police (patch.com) — Fairfield residents are learning more about the fatal I-95 work-zone crash that killed Connecticut DOT worker Elvin Hernandez in town, as state police detail the arrest of a Derby man who allegedly admitted using heroin beforehand. Officials from the governor to state police leaders are urging drivers to slow down, pay attention and move over for road crews, stressing the dangers faced daily by workers along Fairfield's highways.

Members will also consider funding a project highlighting contributions of Fairfield's African ancestry community and make several board and committee appointments, with residents able to watch or participate online.
   

4. Fairfield Schedules E-Bike Safety Panel To Address Road Rules, Crash Prevention (patch.com) — Fairfield is hosting a free e-bike safety panel on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, giving residents a chance to hear from police, doctors, and crash survivors about safer riding and driving. Organized by the Fairfield Safe Streets Alliance, the event targets families, teen riders, and anyone sharing Fairfield's roads, with Q&A and information tables from local departments and health partners.
