Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I am a strong believer in core Republican values: smaller gov't, lower taxes, and I support the strength of private business vs large gov't overreach.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Lower Taxes - I want to help manage our budget to reduce spending where possible, seek to secure a balanced budget without raising taxes - make sure every program is evaluated on its own merits and answers the question of "are we doing the right thing for the community".
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Experience in private business, ability to work across party lines to find smart solutions and proven success in working "with others". I have 43 yrs of working in large corporations, managing people and being a responsible, successful Sales professional.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
I am currently an incumbent.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
To work hard to maintain the character and feel of our town. To also maintain the beauty of our town - be very focused on potential overdevelopment. Yet be very careful to maintain stable growth in our community.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I currently serve on the RTM, and have demonstrated my ability to work across the aisle with the whole RTM. In addition to my service, I am a proven Sales professional with over 40 years of communication and marketing experience.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
"You get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar", meaning you need to work respectfully with and acknowledge others.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I'm truly committed to our town and hope to continue to earn your support.
