FAIRFIELD, CT — Police are investigating a string of burglaries at businesses in northeast Fairfield. The crimes began in late January and continued into February, with the most recent incident happening Feb. 21 at Blue Cactus Grill in the 2400 block of Black Rock Turnpike, according to Capt. Robert Kalamaras.

Other businesses that have been burglarized include China Wok in the 1800 block of Black Rock Turnpike, Kings Deli in the 700 block of Kings Highway East and Chaves Bakery in the 400 block of Kings Highway East, Kalamaras said.

Each incident was what Kalamaras referred to as a spun lock break-in — a burglary where the suspect drills out the bolt from a lock to access a building. The only things stolen from any of the businesses as a result of the break-ins were small amounts of cash or change, according to Kalamaras.
